Off Camera Flash Questions

I am hoping someone can help me with some of my off camera flash questions. I have a K200d and am looking into getting a used Metz 48 to use on and off camera for indoor shots. Here are my questions:

1. Will the k200d's onboard flash control the metz 48 wirelessly or do I need to buy a separate wireless flash trigger and receiver?

2. If I do need a trigger and receiver, can someone recommend one to me. A budget one.

3. Other than a stand/tripod for the flash and a soft box, is there anything else that I need to to do off camera flash?

4. I would love recommendations for soft boxes and stands/tripods.

Thank you much!

1. Yes, you can set it up wirelessly without any further hardware - not the most reliable for this feature, but it does work.

2. Not necessary unless you're unable for the flash sensor to be pointed in the general direction of the pop up flash (acting as the control/master).

3. No - that's just about it - unless the stand for the flash doesn't have a bracket with a hotshoe mount you can use to fix the flash onto the stand.

4. Consider an umbrella, whether shoot-through or reflective. Collapsable, transportable and easy to setup.

I found these light stands to be very sturdy. Set of two PTL 7.5' light stands for $43 LIGHTING STANDS STUDIO PHOTO 7'6" SET OF 2 NEW by PBL - eBay (item 200577224315 end time Feb-23-11 07:48:07 PST)

These umbrella softboxes are not super sturdy but they work very well indoors. You will need to purchase umbrella holders for mounting on the light stand. 2 X Umbrella Softbox Soft Brolly Box Reflector 43" NEW - eBay (item 200560731459 end time Mar-02-11 15:05:48 PST)

I wrote a Forum Article on making a flash holder for those umbrellas.
