Corel' s PSP X3 has a very good CA removal tool, where you can pick several different color bands, and several different radiuses to act on, and this is important, you can select the range over which to correct. taking as much or as little as needed.

it is not too difficult to work around a little CA and if you shoot Tak's or early PK mounts there were very few APO lenses then, so you have to deal with it

I would look in the help for CA removal, not purple fringing, if Photoshop does not have it, I would be surprised.

I would also dump photoshop over lack of a basic feature like this.

My edit was done from my laptop, which is using PSP X (3 versions out of date) compared to home and PSP X3.

This has been arround literally for years and should be one of the standard tools in any photo editor

Photoshop has CA correction tools, but I haven't had many shots to work on it yet since I just recently bought my first DSLR.

unfortunately no more in production
At least for pentax mount that is. According to my sources Voigtlander are producing a new 75mm f/1.8 SLII for Nikon and Canon mount.

If you use Google to find tutorials about removing CA with Photoshop there are more than you can shake a stick at.
