I've tested this lens--I think not.

Thanks, there is a bad review of this lens, but in the “lenses reviews” section here at the forum people think in the other way round, so why I get confuse and ask about it.
Regards.

I have the DA 10-17mm as well.
The point here is that it is a fish eye lens, not a rectalineair lens.
So, you'll see a lot of pincushion distortion with this lens.
In some situations, it gives a nice effect, inside buildings I don't like fish eye lenses.

I'd go with one of the Sigma 10-20mm lenses.

Here are 2 examples picture, the first is taken inside the Kölner cathedral:

You can see the bending of the pillars?

Here it works better, taken on the Nile river with the 10-17mm as well:

Great picture!!! Every one agree 10-20 is the best option, so I'll go for it

Cheers

I don't agree. The Sigma is a great lens, but I think the Pentax 12-24 is better, especially in the coatings and how it renders shots.

On ebay Pentax 12-24 costs $400 more than Sigma 10-20. I don't know if you had tested both lenses, if so Do you think the 12-24 worth the $ gap?
I know that the final decision is up to me, but Sigma 10-20+Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 cost almost the same that Pentax 12-24

The Sigma is a fine, sharp lens. I prefer the rendering of the Pentax and think it is a little (not much) sharper. In fact, I believe the 12-24 is the sharpest zoom Pentax makes. To me, that's worth the extra bucks, but I shoot professionally, so I'm picky. The difference may not be worth that much to you, and I'm confident you will be happy with the Sigma. Besides, $400 is a lot for just slightly better, but you might consider finding a used 12-24, or waiting for a better deal.
