Sigh...guess off she goes for repair. Thanks for all the suggestions.

.....sorry, Im an electronics technician for schools, so many problems are fixed by "plugging it in"

Ahhh, one of the advantages of Pentax. It won't even take a picture of the inside of the lens cap (at least not if it's set in autofocus).

Yeah, I usually give people the benefit of the doubt.
And if it is something like the lens cap, they figure it out when they send it back in for repairs...

Is lens cap removal covered under your warranty?
