Newbies: earn rep points!

I've had my K-x for about a month, and have been reading this forum for about 2 months. But it was just today that I discovered out you can earn Rep points toward higher forum participation by listing your Pentax gear's serial numbers! I got 3 points for my K-x and my two kit lenses. (Wish I'd known before I sold my K-1000 body...)

And I wondered: Rep = Credibility? lots of rep = perks

Move up from "registered user" to "site supporter" and get those perks and ensure there is a friendly place to post pics and get feedback.

I especially like the way PF has done this. Another photo forum I landed on the other day was so blatant in its upsel to "Platinum accounts" it felt dirty.

Yes, the avatar is our first homebred Champion Sheltie, Ch. Draco's Admiralty UD. The head-shot is a crop from a full-body shot I made with my Pentax K-1000. In fact, it was to photograph our dogs that I first bought the K-1000. That particular photo session distressed the security guard at the dog show--he was wondering why I was lying on the ground in full dog-showing-attire...obviously, it was so I wasn't shooting down on the dog!
