Vivitar S1 24-48mm 1:3.8 Zoom Ring issue

Hello Pentaxians!
I hope very much for some help from you.
I just got Vivitar S1 24-48 lens. Unfortunately, it does not work as it should. There is a scale on the zoom ring from 24 to 48 and it should rotate in this range, but the ring does not go further than 28mm. It looks like there is something inside what prevents to go further.
I tried to take it apart and removed front set of lenses and bayonet. I understand the principle how it should work and it looks like it should be workable but it is not. I am a little bit scary to go further with its disassembling, actually I do not know what has to be done next to take out the holder which regulate the focal length inside the lens.
If somebody help with the lens repair manual or give an advice how to fix the issue I would appreciate that very much.

Thank you
Vasyl

P.S. The lens is wonderful in terms of quality of taken pictures .
