Did the screw get deformated? if not you need a good presition screwdriver and some force...if it got deformated..well that makes things tougher (try gently with a good screwdriver, if it does not work you would have to make a line to use a flat one).
I've read about other ways to deal with the pin, some have cut it, some have dremeled it (kind of a risky solution...), or the alternative i like the most:
carefully put a small amount of superglue while pushing the pin down to hold it there.

yes, the cross part of the phillips screwhead is just a smoothed hole , nothing to grab, luckily it was a not great lens, i could try the superglue, hopefully when i get back the 135mm lens that is stuck on the camera, i can take the screws out and remove the pin, that one seemed like a good lens. thanks for your help.

Do yourself a favor and go buy a new screwdriver of the proper size. Expect to pay about 3-5 bucks for that tiny little rascal at a real hardware store. The crap they sell at the BORG will ruin a screw every time.
