K7 + FA 43mm Limited

Hi all,

Maybe a silly question but since I've just got K7 and FA 43mm Limited, thought I'd ask about whether the lens needs any special set up, or settings on the camera? I've only been out once with it as yet, and can clearly see the quality of detail and depth of colours, bokeh etc, but also noticed some fringing on certain things (admittedly at 1:1 in Lightroom) - it's probably my pure inexperience (like taking shot at f1.9, instead of f4) but just thought I'd ask if there's anything obvious I need to do, settings wise.

I have the FA43 too, and absolutely love it! It's part of what got me into Pentax.

If you shoot wide open, small amount of fringing is normal in high contrast situation. New generation of lenses optimized for DSLR may show less fringing, but I haven't seen one that can eliminate it at F/2.0 or larger. Anyway, CA is one of the easiest thing to correct in PP.

Yep, me too - read great things about the Limited's, and just really liked the size and feel of the K7.

Expected it would be me!

Thanks for the advice - still learning Lightroom too!
