Does the camera put out a red beam to AF?

I have a k-x and wanted to use it to photo a wedding. I haven't really noticed but does it put out a red beam or any visible beam of light that would distract anyone from the ceremony? I don't want a red dot on anyone...like they were gonna be shot or something.

No, there is no dedicated AF-assist lamp on the K-x.

If you raise the flash (or are using an external flash), then you might get the red beam if you don't manually disable it.
