I have a 50mm 1.4 lens M42 lens from a Spotmatic that I want to mount on my K-x. I know I need an adapter - is this the right one from the pentax website?

This third-party one doesn't have the flange and is half the price: General Brand Pentax-K Body to Universal Lens Adapter ABPKS B&H

(I think)

I don't have that one, but judging from the reviews it does focus to infinity. However, it is one that uses a tool to remove. You should read up on that one before you buy; check the reviews at BH. The Pentax one doesn't require any special tools to remove. A fingernail is all you need.

You probably already bought one, but if not, I just got a genuine Pentax adapter on the Marketplace, so you could also look there. The Pentax Marketplace | Sell Pentax | Photographic Equipment for Sale - PentaxForums.com

I got the pentax one in the mail today. Expensive little thing but easy to use.
