It probably is. I see this in my K-x sometimes. They move around and sometimes go away on their own. I haven't worried much about them because they don't show up in the photos.

Dust on your focusing screen. It proves you are using your camera.
It harms nothing and you can do real damage by trying to remove it if you don't know what you are doing.
Revel in the dirt, celebrate the dirt, but don't worry about it.

I had a debris spot in my K20 ever since i installed my viewfinder screen. It doesn't affect the pictures and i don't worry about it. Moves around occasionally.

If they don't show up on the photos then its definitely dust on the viewfinder. I have 3 such things that annoy me but get less annoying after time.

Dust in viewfinder

Me too...got a nice big black one on my upper right window...It popped up when I 'cleaned' it with a air blower...one puff and there it was.

Doesn't show on pictures...and I have cleaned the mirror and VF twice ( very carefully) with no luck. It's there .... and it's mine...:-)

Kelvin,

It can be dirt / dust anywhere in the light path.
If it is dirt on the front of the lens, you will not see it.
Otherwise, have a look at the path:
1) Mirror
2) Focus screen (I don't know if your camera has a replaceable focus screen, if that is the case, dust might even get between the screen and the prisma above.
3) The eyepiece.

So, if it is not on #1, the others are the places to check.
A blower or a soft brush are the tools to use here.

Good luck,

Bert

I would simply use a blower bulb to remove the dust spot. It doesn't affect the captured image.
