But did you only have 1 lens?
When I got my first dSLR, at the beginning of 2009, I only had 1 lens, the Tamron 28-300 mm. My husband had the kitlenses and a wide angled lens and a Pentax 50 mm f/2.0 but it took me quite some time before I ever used them.

Yeah, just the one and I always wished I had more.

Don't know. Is there anybody 'crazy' enough to use the same lens month after month after month after month??
there is one guy on RFF who went a year one lens one body. on film. If I'm not mistaken a 50 on an m6. no other camera or lens ever for the year. not just for the game
now that is tough
i could do it on an m6 maybe but with a 35 i think, for me it's the right general fl in 35mm
it would be damn hard though, but this monthly thing is preparing me, it has a zen appeal

One of the qualifying features used to be a certain number of 50-55mm primes, I think 5 was the limit. While having many different focal lengths could be just versatility, it's hard to have a photographic excuse for something like this collection:

Of course I have sold many of those; no one needs six 55mm lenses. Then I bought more - I think I have seven now, not counting the 58mm f2.

well it could have been worse it could have been six identical 55 1.8 which clearly it's not

I have 5x50's and 2 55's, only one a duplicate (m50f1.7)

Owning 5 or 10 or 20 50mms isn't LBA.

It's having style.

I have it

Now that I know what it is, I think I have it. Also, I think some are using this thread to do some intervention. I recognize the pattern, the same we used a AA.

Have any one of you experienced that no matter what lenses you buy, you always come back to the one that never fails that should be the only one that you have? I think I got to that point.

I really need help.

I went through the same (GAS) about 20 years ago with another hobby: guitars. Then I became a professional, right after becoming a professional, I only kept 5 out of my 17 guitars. It hurt to let them go, but it was either them or the wife. Now, I see the pattern coming back. Please do not sell me anything, even if I beg you.

Yeah, I really have no need to drink more than 3 beers in one evening, preferably something rich and smooth in the approximate shade of a Guinness.

Oh wait, you were talking about lenses.

I think my current collection has style:

I think only one was in the previous photo. That's the Vivitar 55mm f2.8 macro, Cosina 55mm f1.2, CZJena Biotar 58mm f2 (looks nice but broken), Rikenon 55m f1.4, Mamiya/Sekor 55mm f1.4, SMC Pentax 55mm f1.8, Auto-Takumar 55mm f1.8 and SMC Takumar 55mm f2.

Another definition of LBA: someone asks how many 50mm lenses you have, and you're not exactly sure. I was kind of surprised to discover two Pentax-M 50mm f1.7s on my desk.

The big problem with LBA, of course, is that you can rapidly wind up with a large collection of junk lenses. You know the routine - "Oh well, it's only $20 bucks - why not?" When clear vision dawns one winter morning, have you ever tried to dispose of a collection of junk lenses? Pepe, take your inspiration from those disciplined souls who regularly shoot with only one or two lenses for a very long time. They develop consistency and depth of knowledge most of us can only dream of. If it was good enough for Henri Cartier-Bresson ...

Anyone want a box of junk? Cheap?
