DA 18-135mm problem

My Da 18=135 doesn't identify itself in the exif information. It just says "unknown lens". Is this normal? Is it a problem?

A lens identifies itself by a number. If it is too new a lens, the software doesn't know the number and so it will just say unknown lens. Eventually Adobe and other software developers add the numbers.

Interesting. I've just this minute noticed the same problem with this lens while browsing some shots in Bridge.

I was wondering if it was a camera firmware issue or an Adobe issue but it seems it's the latter?

As Rondec said, the lens identifies itself as a number and it's up to the software to recognize that number and associate it with a lens name. There is nothing wrong with the lens and it's not a camera firmware issue. Adobe periodically adds new lens IDs to their software and I suspect at some point in the near future the 18-135WR will be added as well.

You can email Adobe and ask about a specific lens and they should be able to tell you if/when the lens database will be updated. My friend did this for a Canon lens and got a response.
