PNY SD Cards

Has anyone had any good or bad things to say about PNY SD cards?Picked up a class 10 16GB for $47 CDN or I could have got a 16 GB SanDisk class 4 for $40.

All that really matters is whether the card works or not and whether the transfer speed is really class 10. You can download from here: H2testw 1.4 ? Gold*Standard*In*Detecting*USB*Counterfeit*Drives SOSFakeFlash and see if your PNY card is transferring at class 10 speeds or not. When I bought my Patriot C6, 16GB SDHC cards a couple of years ago, PNY was one of the worst performing C6 cards at the time but who knows, maybe PNY got their act together with C10 SDHC card.

Thanks,

I picked up an 8gb PNY class 10 from Best Buy about a week ago for my Nikon d80. Used it for about 200 images so far & it hasn't done anything to irritate me yet.
Next time it will rotate to my K20 for awhile. I rotate my 6 various cards between my two systems.
I also have an older PNY (1 or 2 gb) in a point & shoot. It's been there for about 5 years and still works.
Hope this helps.

I have used PNY Optima 4gb cards for a couple of years without any issues at all. My main reason is the price, about $10 at my BJ's Wholesale Club. I have seen 2 packs as low a $14.99 with coupons. I haven't used the particular class 10 card you mention but all my experiences with PNY products through the years have been good. In the past, I have used their computer memory and also video cards.

I have a couple of PNY cards; I think 2gb. They work the same as the other (Kingston, Sandisk) cards I have. Sorry, but no experience with anything faster than class 6.

I have an 8GB class 10 PNY card I got from Best Buy. I haven't had any problems with photos and I've taken a few ~30 second 1080p HD videos and they all came out fine.

I just used that test on my Transcend 8G Class 10 card and found out that my Sandisk Class 4 card actually writes and reads faster than the transcend. Good thing I got a good deal on the transcend or I would be pissed!

Those class numbers on the memory cards are for what they can possibly write and not what they will always write at. I had had some class 4 cards perform better than class 6 cards. So be warned before purchasing just because it says class 6 and its only 10$.

I remember the old days when a 256mb card would cost you and arm and a leg and when P&S cameras would come with a free 64 or 128mb card. I can't even fit one picture on those cards now. It's great how memory cards now are so cheap.
