Dark Bands on K20D picture

Hi,
I've got a friend who's just recently bought a K20D, and she's having issues with it. She's getting dark bands down the left hand side of all images.
I've attached one. I got her to take a blank image to see the problem better.
Myself, I've got a K10D and never had any problems with it.
Any help, greatly appreciated!

Looks like a sensor issue. Is there any Pentax authorized shop in the area? Might worth to pay them a visit

Check the memory card first. Many times it's the memory card. Use a new card, much cheaper than a camera repair.

Alternatively, do an in-camera format of the card as a first step. This is an item on the set-up menu.

If you format the card and it's still there it could be that the card is permanently defective. If you have another card try that one, if they all fail then it's definitely the sensor but the card would be the first/easiest/cheapest problem to fix.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies.
We'd already tried an in camera format and a new card...same problem.

Defo the sensor...it's going back!

Thanks again for the help!

Cheers!
