dust in LCD cover

I was told it is simple to change the cover, clean it and apply a new one. I want to know how to go about lifting the old cover out of the camera without damaging it. It seems it is possible to very inexpensively buy a new cover with the sticky gaskets, but if I cannot get the old cover off, why buy new.

I'm not sure how exactly to go about that, but what I can recommend for the future is one of those fancy ghost armor or similar protectors, which will never see any dust and definitely keep the screen scratch-free

That sounds good, as well as to not take a header and drive my shoulder as well as the camera into the soft dirt. I was lucky to have only dust or maybe lucky to have dust to land in.

The LCD cover is held on with double sided sticky tape. An Exacto knife or similar should work to pry it up. Get a new cover and tape from Pentax parts dept.
