I have to agree as well. Fixing the K100D is not going to be very cost effective. I imagine you could pick up another K100D for far less than it would cost to repair yours. Plus, you could still sell your K100D for parts to recoup some of the loss.
That said, it's also the perfect excuse to upgrade
