[langtitle=lv]pentax k100d super shutter problem[/langtitle]

hi,
i have this problem with my pentax k100d super shutter. i think it is dead but i am not sure about it.
i been using this camera for about 3 years and shutter count is aprox 50000. this day i was taking some pictures when suddenly the shutter stopped to work. the mirror doesn't comes up and the shutter doesn't open. it just makes little noise from the image sensor. but everything else works fine, just the mirror and the shutter doesn't open.
so does someone knows what could be the problem? i very hope that the shutter isn't dead..

Hello, All-marss

My guess is your camera's mirror drive may have failed.
Just in case, have you tried changing the battery and memory card? What happens when you try the mirror up sensor cleaning function? If the mirror doesn't move but you hear a mechanical sound, there's a good chance the mirror drive is the problem.

Also at about 50,000 exposures, my K10D's mirror drive broke. It cost me over US $200 to have it fixed earlier this year.

haven't tried with different batteries or memory card. the sound isn't mechanical, the only noise it makes is from the sensor i think.
also when i turn in sensor cleaning the mirror doesn't come up. even when i manually lift the mirror the shutter doesn't open.

All-marss,

I know how frustrating it is to have a broken camera. I wish I could give you more information.

I'd suggest you contact a Pentax service center to see if you can get a repair estimate. Whatever's wrong, it probably won't be cheap to fix. In case your camera isn't worth the cost to repair, you may want to start shopping for a different one.

Tim

well i am going to upgrade with newer camera. i think i will go for k20d.
it's just sad that k100d super broke because it was my first camera and the start of my photographers career.
but anyway thanks for help Tim.
my grandpa is a repair specialist so i will give him my camera and tell him the info what i have about the mirror drive so maybe he will be able to fix it.
