Zooming in on a photo on your pc

I am wondering about zooming in on a photo and print quality. When I zoom in on one past 100% it looks blurry, my question is if it looks good at 100% then is that appropriate for most prints, 11 x 14 etc? I am using a kx raw, and at the highest settings.

Thanks for all he help!

what exactly do you mean by zooming to 100%.

Are you talking about looking at 1 pixel in the print to 1 pixel on the screen?

Normally high quality printers print 300DPI, therefore the maximum quality for a print will be when you print at 300DPI, however, you can print at either lower resolution or expand your print slightly depending on the printer and software you are using. It all depends on how the software resizes and scales the image, and the method used for interpolation of points.

"100%" normally means each pixel in the picture is a pixel on the screen. That is the equivalent of a wall-sized poster. Zooming in beyond that will indeed just make it blurrier - you're already seeing as much detail as there is to see.

If you want to get an idea of how it will look printed at a given size, actually making it about that size on your computer screen is a pretty close approximation.

100% is not representative of a 11x14 print. There is not percentage that will tell you exactly what a 11x14 print will look like so the only way to tell is to actually print one, trial and error.
