While i was not able to use my pentax, I did a start of a growing baby session, in the end it will be a collage of her whole pregnancy, but all i use was my lil sony hand held. I only did this for her because she was my close friend, I would never use a sony hand held for a paying client.. but, with my photoshopping skills you can't really tell! so with that said, It's not all about the camera but it's your skills as a photographer that count the most. i had to share this, sorry the pic is so small..

Glad to hear you resolved the issue with a new K5!

Just do want to point out, you might want to take a picture of the inside of the K10 and post it here. Based on the photo you posted, it just does not look at all like a "broken" sensor image. This looks more like something fell out of place and instead of the expected shutter action, you have something blocking the upper part of the sensor.

If it's fixable, now you will have a backup camera you can switch lenses with!

I was thinking that maybe if you put the camera on timer and take a shot, just before the shot is taken the mirror raises and then drops after the shot. maybe try to do a timer shot and maybe it might fix it's self? thought maybe it is stuck and this might unstick it

cheers
