Is the lens a screwmount lens with an adapter? If so, set "FI with S lens used" to "Available".

Problem solved !!!
Guys, thank you very much for all the replies. I just Reset the camera to its initial setting and somehow when I turned on the camera,the problem resoled itself ?!?!?!? Now I can choose the focal length of the lens

Happened to me last week with K100D and M 50 1.4. Not sure why, but I changed lenses, then re-mounted the M lens and it was fine. Turned camera off and back on for each step. Good luck!!
