[langtitle=bg]Problem with telling the camera (Pentax 100D) what the foca[/langtitle]

Hi,
I hope somene can help me with my problem.

When I use manual focus lens I need to tell the camera what the focal length is of the lens being used to get the best SR performance. So to do this, I simply turn the camera off, mount the lens, make sure SR is ON, turn the camera back on, and ..... nothing happens.I don't get the menu where I can select the focal length of the lens being used on the rear LCD when prompted.
When I go in the Menu manually to do this(shake reduction can not be accessed (if a manual lens is mount on the camera)

What should I do?

Thx

On my K100D, with manual lens mounted, as soon as I turn on the camera, there is a list of focal lengths showing on the LCD, that allowed me to change the focal length with the four way controller. Are you saying this is not showing up on your LCD?

yes this is not showing up on my LCD and I tried with 2 different manual lenses. Also the camera does not confirm with the green <_> that I am on focus with manual lenses.

Have you taken an image and looked at the detailed information on the rear screen to see what focal length it thinks it has mounted?

Check is SR is turned off. I think you will only get the prompt for focal length if shake reduction is turn on.

SR is turned on ,Mode is on M and focus on M, I triple checked it!When I turn on the camera Still doesn't that allowed me to change the focal length.

How's your battery level? I've found if the batteries aren't up enough, the LCD can't work.

What lens are you using?

What camera & lens are you using? Just a guess, but it could help with the answer.

Make sure that "using aperture ring" is set to permitted. Push the menu button and go the custom setting tab, should be on the third page of the custom setting menu.

Are you setting Shake Reduction via the menu or the button on the right bottom of the camera?
