T2 lenses on k-5

I got 2 T2 lenses, sankor 135mm 2.8 and Tamron 35 mm 2.8 previously they where used to an old analog canon with an adapter for some old canon mount so I thought I would get t2 adpaters for k-mount and did so.

With the sankor everything seems fine, it works perfectly and is really fun to shoot with. The tamron I have not dared to try yet, since focuse moves the lens towards the sensor, so it sticks out about 5mm behind the edge of the adapter.

Is there a risk of breaking the camera with the lens?

The biggest risk with a protruding lens element is that the mirror may hit it when it flips up. My guess is, the risk is low. The Pentax registration distance is 1.46mm greater than Canon EOS, or 3.46mm greater than Canon FD, and much greater than something labeled "Canon screw". Also, the mirror on a Pentax DSLR is sized for APS-C, and thus has more clearance than a mirror for 35mm film. A T2 mount shouldn't have any aperture levers or controls in the way either.

I have had various T2 lenses in 24-28-35mm whose rear elements don't intrude on my K20D's mirror. And I just (roughly) measured the distance from the camera's mount to the leading edge of the mirror as being around 12mm. So, a rear element that protrudes only 5mm will not foul a PK dSLR's mirror.
