Pentax k-x hotshoe not working in manual mode

I am not terribly certain if i might have drunkenly switched some settings up or what is going on. I shoot primarily with flash for events and only shoot in manual. I have changed it to program mode and aperture priority and everything worked fine. why not in manual? I have a lot of work coming up that i will need my studio flashes for. Thanks!

Do you want to us an "A" type lens set to"A" but have the pop-up fire only once?

What do you mean by "everything worked fine" in other modes? You don't mean the flash did not prefire do you?

I think we need some more information. I read this 3 times and still do not have a clue what the issue is. Maybe I'm just slow today...

Your flash will only fire @ 180 sec and lower shutter speeds - the on camera flash AND hotshoe will not fire off at any shutter speed above 180 sec.

Put your camera back in manual mode, set shutter speed at 160, set aperture to match up for proper exposure and fire away...

I wish it were that simple. My hotshoe works in every mode but manual. I know the shutter speed needs to be 180 or lower. It just won't fire unless it is in a mode other than manual.

sounds like a sync issue to me.

Have you tried slower than 180? Does it flash at 125?
