Metz 44 flash, P-TTL & K200D

Help - I'm new to Pentax Forums, and having a problem with my K200. I don't use flash much and really did not want to pay Pentax sort of prices for an occasional flashgun. The Metz handbook says refer to Camera user handbook for P-TTL connection; the K 200 manual just refers to activating a P-TTL switch on the (Pentax) flashgun - has anyone out there managed to connect a Metz44 to a K200D who can tell me how to go about it?

You mean beyond sliding it into the hotshoe? Otherwise...slide it into the hotshoe and turn it on. See the flash's user manual for how to put it into p-ttl mode. It will probably default to that anyway.

HI, I also have the Metz Mecablitz 44 AF-1 and the K200D. There really isn't much to it: Just follow the instructions on page 90 in the Metz manual. Select TTL / Press the TTL-button on the flash; select an appropriate mode (P, Av, Tv) on your K200D and lightly press the shutter release to establish camera-flash communication. And off you go.......
