Need Help with metering....

I am looking for someone to assist me with shooting in Manual with my K-7. Local to the Eastern Virginia area.

I can't seem to get my metering to work.

Please post a sample photo that includes the exif data. It's hard to help without knowing what results you are getting and what your settings are. In the meantime, visit this site: Ultimate Exposure Computer to learn more about exposure.

Also, say what kind of lens you are using. If it's a manual lens, be sure to read the article on how to shoot with manual lenses on this site. If not a manul lens, though, the meter should be working right off the bat, at most requiring a shutter half- press to wake it up. It should be telling you whether your current exposure settings will result in under or overexposre and by how much. You can hit the Green button or equivalent on your camera to get the camera to set an expsure for you that will result in correct exposure.
