I am having difficulty using either a circular polarizer or a ND grad filter on a wide-angle lens (either the 12-24 or 16-50 at 16mm). There is always vignetting. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong because I'm really trying to improve my landscape photography for a trip to Ireland in the fall. Thanks!
I use both the DA12-24mm and the DA16-50mm frequently, with a single thin 77mm ND filter and have no problem. However, when I need to stack filters, I use the 4"x4" or 4"x6" filters.
I think you may find the cost of a 4"x4" system to be not much more expensive than purchasing a step-up ring and over-sized round filters for these lenses.

Thanks for that advice. I will remove the UV filter and only use the 77mm ND filter and see how it works. I have used the 77mm filter on my 18-55 and 40mm lenses and it works great.
