Flash Help Needed? Please HELP.. .

I am recently ( 6 months ) a real-estate photographer. I have been using the stock K-x and the stock flash/lens. people are ecstatic about the results I have been pulling off. But I want to do better. They are not up with the pros. I know I need more knowledge and practice.

I am looking at buying a couple of battery op flashes.

I want to mount them behind a couple transparent soft umbrellas on small tri-pods.

What I am asking is - Where can I find a couple camera flash or remote triggered flashes that will work with the k-x. ( for a decent price )

I thought the ones that mount to the camera would work fine?
They have batteries so no cables for houses without many outlets.
no chords n such.. .

I have attached a couple images to illustrait what I am trying to say.

What is the remote trigger called? ( flash trigger? wireless?)

Is this at all possible ?

Am I out of my mind?

Thanks everyone.

A good start might be:
MPEX Strobist Kits

Stand (10ft, air dampended), umbrella (47in), umbrella swivel, cactus v5 and yonguo yn560 would be a sweet kit

A better start would be to thoroughly read the Strobist material before trying to decide what Strobist gear to buy.

Agreed.
Deffo check out Strobist: Welcome to Strobist.
Pretty much all of what you need is there...
Also try YouTubing 'Zack Arias OneLight' as he's very good at explaining technical-must-know-info into useable-practical-photography...
