Manfrotto 7322CY-BB M-Y carbon fiber tripod

I just bought this tripod from Costco because of the $70 discount (I cost me $112.34). However, I haven't found too many reviews about this tripod. I bought it mainly because I want a light tripod for traveling and hiking. I am planing to use it with my Pentax K-x and my heavier lenses so far are the DA 18-250mm and DA-L 55-300. Does anyone has any opinions/experience with this tripod? Thanks.

Carbon fiber is no good if your wife decides she can fit her car in the garage alongside your tripod. Well, aluminum doesn't work either.

Doesn't really matter now. You have it, you use it :-)

Well, I just ordered and it is backordered at Cotsco, so I can still cancel it or return it latter ("buy now, ask latter" approach).

Just1MoreDave: Sorry about your tripod! I will take your experience into account

That's a very good price for that tripod. When I bought my Tamron SP 300/2.8 (60B) from a brick and mortar store, the salesperson mounted the lens and my K20D on to the tripod you are buying. I expressed my doubts about the tripod's ability to support the camera/lens combination but she assured me that it would be alright and yes it worked quite well (for the brief amount of time I was in the store). The camera/lens combination weighs almost 3 Kg so it's approaching the limit of the tripod's max limit but imo, Manfrotto errs on the conservative side when they assign max limit to their tripods.

I did not buy it (already have 2 Manfrotto tripods 055, 028), because it's too short for me. The whiplash I got twenty years ago won't allow me to stay hunched over for any length of time, if I want to stay away from the Chiropractor.

Thanks,

Excanonfd, thank you for the information. I hope the height will no be a problem. By any chance do you know if the ball head in this tripod is replaceable? I can't find information that confirms this. Thanks

Honestly, I have no idea. I wasn't in the store to buy a tripod and any tripod I look at, if the height of the tripod with the centre column collapsed isn't high enough to shoot without hunching over, I don't pursue it any further. Here is a link for the spare parts; Manfrotto M-Y CF BALL HEAD TRIPOD - M-Y I would think the head would be replaceable but it is not indicated in the parts diagram.

Thanks,
