This problem has been going on almost since I got my camera. I have usually just cropped them, but getting really tired of the problem. It comes and goes. I thnk my camera is now out of warranty. I purchased through HSN. Not sure if there is anythiung i can co about it now. Can this be fixed and how much? Anyone else had this problem?

Have you tried reformatting the memory card? Replacing it? However I suspect this is a sensor problem...

Looks like a bad sensor. Why on Earth would you wait until your warranty was up to try to act on such a serious problem? I'm pretty sure there is nothing you can do about this yourself.

Unfortunately some K20D's were afflicted with this. Only solution was a new sensor.

Hi artisansforafrica,

I also would think this is a sensor fault, and a repair would be expensive.

If you're not sure about the warranty, I'd suggest you dig out your receipt and make sure. Do it right now! Consider that not repairing the camera will not only cost you continuing inconvenience, but also considerable resale value down the line.

It would probably cost you just as much to fix it as it would to buy a new (used) one, so I would suggest thinking about that route also. Good luck.

Before you decide the camera is at fault try a faster write speed memory card. I had a similar problem with my K20 that went with a faster card.
