Picture artifacts

Hello,
I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, but I need some help. It is driving my nuts and ruining some of my shots. I've try wiping it with a cloth, a pencil and just today I used some liquid solution and this "mark" still persists.

Question: Is this inside the lenses, something I'd have to send back to the manufacturer?

Lenses:Tamron SP AF 17-50MM F/2.8 XR DI II LD

(click on the link) Left hand side, just below the horizon line, underneath the sun. There is this circular pattern, that I can't seem to get rid of.

Thanks!

Doesn't look good. Do you see this with other lenses? Is that in the same place in all shots? If so, it's the sensor. If not, it's likely a lens issue.

You have a fuzzy on your sensor. Get a rocket blower.

Thank you both for replying. The issue pretty much persists after using different lenses. I will try the rocket blower suggestion.

However, here is what I do not understand. I ran a test to check for dusk and it came out clear. Is this one of them circumstances where a censor clean kit needs to be purchased?

Thanks!

Adobe has a tool for Lightroom called "spot removal" that was designed specifically for this.

An O-ICK1 sensor cleaning kit was one of my first add-ons for my K20D. I heartily recommend it. Your dust-check results seem to indicate that it's not dust, but maybe some dried moisture that doesn't show as dust; or a (shudder) sensor stain. In fact, what I saw on your image looks much more like dried moisture than dust. I'm not sure what sensor stains look like. What is your camera? How old is it? Is it still under warranty?

My recommendation: Get and use the kit. (It's good for many many many uses, on any dSLR.) If that doesn't fix it, see about warranty service. Good luck!

I've seen them in all shapes and sizes. Some have even looked like letters of the alphabet. Once I thought there was a bird in the sky (even though I don't remember seeing him in the viewfinder) but he never moved in successive photos. If you are referring to the dust mapping function on the later cameras, I wouldn't trust it.

1. In camera cleaning shaker.
2. Rocket Blower
3. O-ICK1
4. Wet Clean
