Focus points on Pentax K100D

My Pentax K100D does not display 11 red focus points on the screen despite selecting following menu settings:-

In Rec Mode- AE metering is set at Multi segments
Swtch dst msr pt is set at select
In Custom Settings- Superimpose AF Area is On.

Am I missing something ? Shall apprecite help.

Is the camera in "Green mode"?

Note that the AF points only illuminate when you manually change which one is active and/or something comes into focus for an active AF point while the camera is trying to focus.

Try using the manual AF point selection mode and then move the active AF point around with the four direction buttons around the "OK" button. You should then see the active one light up.

Thanks for your responses. The camera is not in green mode. The active focus point lights up and moves as per 4way button,but my impression was that all 11 points appear dimly on the screen and the one selected,lights up.

You can pretty much easily tell where the AF points are by looking at the markings of the focusing screen.

Beware, though. The AF "points" are AF areas in reality. They are much bigger than the AF points you see light up briefly. They practically touch each other with little gaps. This can be of significance in some situations where you think you are pointing to a small spot whereas the camera will consider a much larger area in order to obtain focus.
