Yes, it's an annoyance. No, the 18-250 isn't the only zoom that creeps, but it's the only one AFAIK with a lock!

ALL my other 135mm-plus zooms (Kiron, Pentax, Samyang, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina) are creepy..
I didn't say it's the only zoom that creeps, I said it's my only zoom that creeps. I have seven zooms, including four that are 135mm+. Only the DA 18-250 has creep. For a little while I also had a Sigma 150-500mm with a lock and serious creep. I'd rather not have zoom creep, but failing that, the locks would be more useful if they could be locked at any length.

Yes, zoom creep is an annoyance. So are most other people. I just must learn to live with them. Oh bother.
It sounds like you don't like people disagreeing with your opinions.

It's surprising to me that someone with as many lenses as you own would rate one-lens convenience so highly. I had given up on the 18-250 in favour of the 16-45 and 55-300, because IQ was disappointing in too many situations. I'm liking the 18-135 more and more as I use it, so I'm as high on it as you seem to be on the 18-250.

Disagreeing with me is fine. Farting on me isn't. Nor is tearing up the repairs I'm making to my gravel road. Hell is other people, especially a$$hole neighbors. But I digress.

In dynamic situations, swapping lenses can mean missing shots. The IQ of a missed shot is zero, nada, nil. With the 18-250, I don't miss shots. That's the bottom line. One member here with an 18-135 said that the difference between his shooting, and his daughter's using an 18-250, is that she sells pictures! Is DA18-250 IQ bad? Ask Benjikan, who says he sometimes uses it for fashion-cover shoots.

My other AF zooms are more limited and yes, some have excellent IQ: DA10-17, Tamron 10-24 and 28-70, F35-70, FA100-300. My monster zoom, the Lil'Bigma 170-500, has good IQ but is unwieldy. My MF zooms include some OK glass, and some hi-IQ classics: Schneider Betavaron 50-125; Sears-Tokina 55-135/3.5; Vivitar-Kiron Series 1 Version 1 70-210/3.5. Being MF, they aren't as good in dynamic situations. Any of these other zooms, like any prime, is excellent WHEN CIRCUMSTANCES ALLOW! If I don't know what to expect, it's the 18-250 for me.
