K10d is blurry at slow shutter speeds

Hello. I am a pro shooter and am baffled by a blurring problem with my K10D. At slow shutter speeds (anything under about 1/30th) my images are blurry. Not out of focus, but blurry as if the camera is shaking. It doesn't matter what lens I'm using. Even when I put the camera on a tripod and shoot at a slow shutter speed (e.g., 1/4) with shake reduction turned off, I get really weird, shaky-looking images. I've used the camera for years without an issue, but suddenly it is doing it all the time. Has anyone experienced this? Any help? Thanks.

Could the SR mechanism be going haywire? Definitely sounds like it's to blame.

Something is going haywire. Not sure what. Do you have any specific ideas?

To add to Adam:
* I would do some tests with SR on and off, handheld and MF.

* I would also kill off any in-camera PP, incl. NR, ... In-camera PP might be counterproductive if SR does not work well.

* Have you tried to thether the camera (not sure that the K10d can do it) to control the camera from the computer.

Food for thoughts....

If you shoot something like a printed page, i.e. with sharp edges and high contrast, you might be able to see what is making the blur. I'd use a tripod, normal focal lengths and a series of shutter speeds from 1/60 to 1 sec. Software like Photoshop's Smart Sharpen or Focus Magic can tell you how many pixels the image is shifting and in what direction.

From your description, this is all academic. The tripod should be holding everything still (barring earthquakes). If there's movement, I can't think of anything else but SR failure.

Thanks, I'll try some tests

Thanks for everyone who responded. I will run some more tests. I have a sneaking suspicion that my shake reduction thing may be screwed up. Not sure what I'm going to do about that. If I get more screwy results, I'll post some shots.
