I have a strange focal length input problem with my K100D.

When a Pentax A 50:2 lens is mounted set either to "A" or not & SR on, the prompt for focal length input appears. As soon as the four-way selector is touched to set the focal length the prompt goes away. When a photo is taken EXIF reports whatever the prompt said, not the actual focal length. To change the what the EXIF reports as focal length I must go to the "Recording" menu.

The same occurs with a simple K type lens.

I have reset the custom and camera settings. Allow aperture ring use etc is properly set.

Any ideas? The only thing I can think of trying is to re-install the firmware.

If it does it with any manual lens, it seems like a buttons issue. The camera may be seeing any of the arrows as the OK center button. Check the OK button. Could it be recessed and very sensitive?
The focal lenght input is for SR calculations.

There's an option on the [Custom Settings] menu called [Fl with S lens used]. That's the only suggestion I could get from the manual. I only looked there because on the K-7, I use the rear dial to set focal length.
