shutter release lock

im new to photography and have recently bought a pentax superprogram and its working well, with only one issue. The ring around the shutter release button wont move, for anything. im not sure what i did but its stuck! the small grey button is down and wont come back up and an 'E" is flashing on the LCD. help!

Where is the red dot pointing to on the dial? The gray button is normally down except when the red dot is pointing at Auto and the gray button pops up to lock the dial in the Auto position. Try pulling up the button with your fingernail or a utility knife.
