Auto Bracketing in M mode

Hi

Having discovered I can use my TV remote to fire my K-7, I was going to take some shots of an eerie building near my house one starry night.

I've been playing with the camera though, and it seems that if you use Auto Bracketing in Manual it changes both the aperture and the shutter speed, but I only want it to change the shutter speed.

I know I can do this by putting it in Av mode, but as the scene is so dark I want to use M mode - my camera underexposes massively when presented with a really dark scene (even with the lens cap on it seems reluctant to use a long shutter speed) If I use Av I'd have to set it to 'overexpose' but I don't know if I could get it to overexpose by enough.

So, is there any way to use bracketing in M mode, but set the K-7 so it only changes the shutter speed?

Thanks.

There's always the insurance value in having a couple of bracketed exposures. You then have peace of mind knowing that you have a shot without the black or whites blown out. You can also exposure blend a couple of images to simulate a wider dynamic range.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do, but I don't want the aperture to vary because then the DoF will vary!

I started a thread on this for my K5: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-5-forum/152228-fixed-aperture-bracketing-m.html. The K7 should be similar.

Try setting the green button to "Tv Shift" - the user manual (page 106) says this can be done like so: "Custom Menu 4" -> "26. e-dial in TAv & M modes" -> "2 Tv Shift"
