Is this dust?

heres a couple pics with dust. The size of the dark spots varies depending on the focal length of the lens used.

Short answer: yep.

It's on the sensor.

If you really want to see it, try stopping your lens down to f/22 (or whatever min aperture is).

Yeah, I forgot to include a disclaimer. It is usually a horrifying sight.

Rocket blower or sensor sweeps can be of assistance in getting the poor thing clean.

The kit lens with its f/40 @ 55mm really makes things scary to look at.

my sky shots 2 weeks ago scared me silly,there were spots like yours and worse all over the sky. my rocket blower came yesterday. my sky's are clear again. took about 30 seconds .
