Pentax ist DS

Hi all!

My Pentax ist DS didn't become power. In service have told what to repair it is impossible and it is necessary to replace main board. I live in Russia and I can not buy it anywhere. I couldn't learn part number this part. Someone can knows where I can buy?

Ebay is probably your best option.

You have 3 posts now, so you should be able to pm the seller.

I think people tend to keep those cameras because they can use TTL flash. You might have to pay a premium for a working one or just be very patient and get a broken one. You only need a few posts before you'll be cleared to contact someone through PM. Enjoy the forums and good luck.

Yes, now I have sent to the seller the letter, but he has answered that already has sold Pentax. Thus I still need in Pentax *ist DS body for parts or repair.

You have to keep looking. eBay your best option in my opinion. Stocks change every hour of so you really have to keep trying.

Good luck!

Thanks!
I watch for a long time for Ebay but while it is ineffectual.
It will be much easier to find a part if it is known it part number. But I don't know...

Did you try writing to Pentax Russia and asking for the part number?

Are you planning to do the repair yourself? If not, it might be better to just buy another working *ist series camera. They turn up on the Marketplace sometimes in the $100-200 range. Recently an almost new (under 2k shots) *istD sold here for $125. Sold very quickly, too!

I'm the lucky one who got that *istD Yes, it was like new. Great little camera despite being really slow (writing and view) compared to today standard.
