Highlights showing red colour after editing

The attached photo was taken with a Pentax K5 in RAW and showed highlights a little blown; not surprising since it was taken towards the sun.
After processing in Camera Raw 6.1 and moving the Recovery slide up to the max (100) I am still left with red highlights on the water nearest the camera. This is obviously not the software showing blown highlights as the colour is still even when viewed with software that has no blown highlight alert.
What is going on? Is it just refraction of light throught the stirred up water? Or is it a case of extra colour correction required?

Looks a bit like some chromatic aberrations around the high contrast areas. This is most probably caused by the lens. I would start by looking at desaturation of the purple/reds which shouldn't have too much effect on the rest of the image.
You'll probably notice is you pixel peep some green aberrations in the out of focus behind the duck and red in front of the duck.

If you're using either Photoshop or Lightroom, each has a dedicated chromatic aberration minimizing feature.

Thanks to both of you. I used Elements 9, which appears devoid of chromatic aberration adjustment.

There is a $25 program called PTLens that corrects CA as well as lens distortion. It's well worth the cost.
