Pentax Da* 50-135mm SDM Contact Pin Missing.

I would take it to an electronics repair shop (Stereo, TV, VCR, Etc).
Sure they would be able to hook up to what is left of the pin and mount a
contact plate for the SDM.

Or try to find an used Pentax FA zoom lens with Power zoom function and then just swap power contacts. You can still use such FA lens on a digital body, but obviously without Power Zoom function (manual zoom).

For the OP. I don't understand your local pentax rep. Regardless of where you bought the lens try should be capable of fixing it. Doing it for free however may be a different issue

and finally got to this forum page and just ordered a beat up 28-8mm power zoom on evilbay just for that little power connection part. No doubt it's cheaper than sending it in. probably faster too

I ordered an old pentax 28-80mm lens for 25 bucks on ebay and transferred the power pin to my newer lens with the broken contacts and it works great!

only thing was I had to unsolder the old pins because it had 2 more contacts underneath and the screws were slightly different size, so I used the current ones, but it works like brand new now, for 25 bucks

can't beat that..thanks a lot
