battery power.

I want to do some night long exposure shots using my ist DL. Is there any way i could convert and use a bigger battery with more life in it for these kind of outings ? I will not be near any other form of power and also, i will be walking some distance. Any advice please ?

A battery pack of 4 fresh alkalines (D cells, I suggest) will work fine for you. Just connect the pack to the external power inlet on your *ist DL the way you would do with the normal 6.5 V power supply.

You will of course need a cord with a plug that is compatible with the DL power inlet but you can get such cords with interchangeable plugs at many power supply dealers (they usually come with third party power supplies for cameras if nothing else). Fitting the cord to the pack should be simple. Just be sure that you get the polarity right!

You can also use a single 6 volt lantern battery, which should last longer than 4 D cells.
