Light Meter Failing

My old Spotmatic battery was just replaced. The light meter now moves. Unfortunately the indicator lays low when off. When I turn the meter on it pegs down and never moves up.
What should I do?

Can't offer much. I have had mine fixed 3 times in 37 years.

1. carefully clean clean the contacts (broke mine trying to pull it up to make a better contact)

2. Buy a hand light meter.

It can be silly, but I have to say it: check to make sure the battery cell is installed with correct polarity.
