mounting sigma lens to pentax kx

hi, im new to dslr. just got Sigma 50-200mm f/4.0-5.6 for my kx but i couldnt mount it properly. it becomes tight as i turn clockwise.. comments will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Does the lens have a Pentax mount?

yes, got it from amazon. it says for pentax dslr

.... and it does not look like a Pentax K mount, especially with the electronic connectors on the neck of the bayonet mount. I am not the expert, but it appears to be a Nikon mount to me. Here is a picture of a Nikon mount (on a Sigma lens).

It looks like a mix-up and somehow the wrong lens wound up in the right box (Sigma makes the same lens in Pentax, Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts). I would just exchange it for a Pentax K mount lens with the retailer.

Yes, that's Nikon AF all right. I've only had one of those but it's instantly recognizable. Yes, exchange it immediately.
