Pentax F remote + Kx

I bought a pentax f wireless remote for my Kx.. I tried it last night but I can't get it to make the camera fire.. What am I missing??

Did you change the settings in the camera to use the remote ( page 134 in the manual). I have one and it works fine, though I bought mine used. I also bought a new battery.

get into capture mode, press 4-way controller up, select the remote, hit ok.

After you initialize the remote function in the menus, you also have to be either behind or in front of the camera for the receiver to get the signal.

I was in front of it .. I did change the settings per the manual.. will start over and see.. Maybe it needs a battery.. It's brand new though..

get into capture mode, press 4-way controller up, select the remote, hit ok.
^^^ will also try this and see what happens

Even brand new batteries can come as only half charged. I find this a problem most times with computer motherboards, but it can happen with optical devices also. We don't know how long those batteries have sit on the shelf.

I've never had it activate when behind the camera, but up front it works fine.
