White Balance in EXIF; why not

I have a blued image. And, I wanted to confirm that an inappropriate white balance was the cause.
I was surprised that it was not recorded in the EXIF.
Maybe, I don't know how to read the tag.
Why isn't it there?

It's there, you just need a better exif reader. The ones we use on the forum when you upload photos - jhead and exiftool - can both read white balance. I'm pretty sure lightroom can as well

Photome is an excellent standalone reader/editor, and Exif Viewer is a decent Firefox addon.

You might want to report that omission to the devs of FastStone, it's a pretty basic tag to leave out.

Thank you, Adam.
I downloaded exiftool. There is a lot of information there. Maybe that's why they call it metadata.

+1 for Photome. I've just installed the FF addon as well. See how it goes.

Metadata is data about data, so the EXIF is metadata as it's data about an image, which is the data.

Photome development seems to have stopped. ExifTool is regularly updated. ExifToolGUI does help though
