Spotmatic -- how to remove mount?

I have a Spotmatic that I'd like to remove the m42 lens mount from for use in a DIY project (the body is in bad shape and isn't worth saving) -- what's the easiest way to get it off? It has no screws or anything on the outside like a bayonet -- does the whole thing just unscrew or do I have to get at it from the inside (which would be disassembling the whole body).

Try removing the base plate, screw mount screws may be under there.

Peel back the leatherette on the front from the mount outwards, and remove 5 screws. (I think you aleo have to remove the bottom cover - 4 screws.) The top of the front casting does fit up under the top cover, but you can pull the bottom outwards and lower the front until it clears the top.
