Shutter Priority on K10D

All of a sudden the shutter priority on the Mode dial has stopped working. When I set it on a speed such as 1/250 it bounces all over the place. I will get 1/50, other speeds as well as readings which appear to be in inches.

I have taken in excess of 30,000 pics. w/this camera. Am I doing something wrong all of a sudden?

It could be broken all of the sudden. My K10D aperture control stopped working suddenly one day -- had way less than 30k shutter clicks too. Could also be a power issue. Try a different battery if you have one.

Sounds like the typical e-dial issue that a lot of Pentax cameras are susceptible to. You mean that when turning the e-dial it's jumping around in values, correct? A small squirt of contact cleaner in the slot between the dial and housing, followed by rotating the dial first one way for a couple minutes, then the other, will fix this up. Be sure to use a contact cleaner that dries with no residue.

Thanks for the responses. I found the problem. Reset the custom settings to factory took care of it. Now I will have to re-do the settings that I want w/o messing it up again.
