Are you shooting with the lens on one of the PZ-series film cameras? If not, then you won't need the switch

I picked one up with the switch missing, for $10 and just decided to fill in the hole with epoxy. As I use this on a DSLR there is no need to use any function other than the power zoom. I use the 28-105 on my PZ1

I've got one of those lenses as well. My switch is broken, but it is there. I never use it anymore, but still attached to my PZ-10.

I think the lens will be fine on the DS. I used mine for quite some time before upgrading to the Tamron 28-75/2.8
