Sigma 50-500mm F/4.5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM

Will the Sigma 50-500mm F/4.5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM lens work on the Pentax K20D? I was thinking of getting one,and wanted to know if it would work on my K20D body.

Thanks!

Any K mount lens will work on your K20D. Any screw mount Pentax will as well with the appropriate adapter.

Be sure you buy the Pentax version of that lens, as there are also canon, nikon, sony, and sigma variants.

Sigma 50-500mm F/4.5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM Lens for Pentax 738109

BTW, our lens databases containe every lens available for Pentax that's currently in production (as well as all genuine and many third-party legacy lenses), so be sure to check there if in doubt!

Will you buy one for me so I can see if it works on my K10?

Yes, a PK-mount Bigma 50-500 will work on your K20D. I use its longer but lighter sibling, a Lil'Bigma 170-500, on my K20D. It's quite impressive. "Ooh, what a big lens!" they say, admiringly. Nice optics, and it's exellent for crushing small dogs.

You may want some accessories: A tripod. And a pack llama. Or at least a bearer to schlep it for you as you trek towards your Kodak Moments. Oh, but carrying yourself will be good exercise. The kilos will just melt away. To hell with diets.

You also might want some Tiger Balm. For your hands and arms. After you hold it awhile. You may think I'm joking, ha ha. I'm not. The body+lens combo will weigh in the neighborhood of 2.5 kilos. I hurt after a handheld Lil'Bigma session.

Have fun with your new toy! Just don't aim it at police.

Still Looking

I have a K10D,
Short answer is No it will NOT,

what you get is a flashing back screen, you cannot change any features or settings.
I have tried Sigma and Kenko (x1.5/x1.4/x2) converters, bought and sent back.
My Advice if you see a converter in a Shop, get them to check it on a Pentax body with the Bigma

I have written to Sigma, they say they have not considered to make a convertor that fits Pentax for this Lens
Kenko said same ( possibly waiting for someone to develop before bringing out a cheaper alternative)

Have Emailed Pentax to Beg them to make one, if they get a lot of enquires they may make it for us.

I am using a Panagor 2x convertor as it has no contacts to cause problems.

Regards
